[06:38]<PCdoc> http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/internet/Li-Fi-to-replace-Wi-Fi-in-China/articleshow/24289921.cms
[06:38]<PCdoc> If anyone wants to post in the news forum :P
[06:39]<PCdoc> Anyways, I am doing it ..
[07:22]<PCdoc> jamer??
[07:29]<+camerongray> Hnmm
[07:30]<+camerongray> It;s a cool technology, can't see how it can be practical though
[07:31]<+camerongray> I remember years ago out family had a Sony Handycam - It had a little infrared box you plugged into the TV and the camcorder used an Infrared LED to send the video signal wirelessly to the TV - It did work but if anyone walked between the camera and the TV the picture would drop out - And that's a low-res analogue TV picture - Surely those issues would be even worse with a high-speed internet signal
[07:57]<@BC_Programming> let's see if I can login to the MC server without it exploding
[07:58]<PCdoc> May be because infrared signal travels in straight line
[07:58]<@BC_Programming> Nope
[07:58]<@BC_Programming> Server dies the instant I login
[08:00]<@BC_Programming> this makes no sense... why do I have to constantly edit BC_Programming.dat
[08:06]<@BC_Programming> hmm nevermind that doesn't fix it anymore
[08:23]<PCdoc> Intel is promoting Assembled All-in-Ones
[08:23]<PCdoc> and NUC
[08:24]<PCdoc> I saw NUC. Wow so much small and light weight
[08:24]<PCdoc> the ssd is so small inside like the size of wifi chip in laptop
[08:25]<PCdoc> http://techreport.com/r.x/intel-nuc/nuc-ssd.jpg
[08:27]<PCdoc> But I think this idea is copied from mac mini
[08:27]<PCdoc> only that it does not have built-in dvd writer
[09:24]<jamer> I got banned..
[09:24]<@BC_Programming> congratulations
[09:25]<@BC_Programming> Not sure why it get's announced like an accomplishment
[09:32]<PCdoc> i know jamer

[12:13]<@BC_Programming> oh wow. What kind of backwards logic is that to just assume that I'm going to give them 200 extra Dollars just because I can
[12:13]<@BC_Programming> all they spend it on is beer anyway... trying to tell me they need it to "pay the bills" when I know for a fact it all goes towards anything BUT the bills and then they cry about how I didn't give them enough
[12:14]<@BC_Programming> stop spending 100+ of MY FECKING MONEY on beer... if you want to buy crap like that get a damn job
[12:14]<@BC_Programming> </vent>
[13:55] * Craig_Remote (Craig-Work@mib-80D2C75C.memxit.com) has joined #glitchpc
[14:23]<@BC_Programming> Mulreay: are you able to join the Server?
[14:25]<Immental1200> No, you broke it all ;)
[14:26]<@BC_Programming> It shows him join and quit but I want to know if he had the same problem as I did where you basically time out immediately
[14:26]<@BC_Programming> half the time I can fix it by deleting my UUIDLeast and UUIDMost values in my player.dat.. the other half the server crashes hard and actually terminates
[14:27]<Immental1200> Java up to date?
[14:27] * Nat (nat@mib-D760DC52.west.biz.rr.com) has joined #glitchpc
[14:27]<Immental1200> How're you keeping it running, screen?
[14:28]<@BC_Programming> right the server can run great for a few days and then suddenly have problems because Java is not up to date. Minecraft is written for Java 6 so that isn't going to make a difference
[14:28]<@BC_Programming> right now I'm running it in a terminal so I can actually monitor what happens. The crash is not in the log
[14:29]<@BC_Programming> I think his connection was fine, 8 minutes or so and no "Can't keep up" messages which get spammed when I try to connect
[14:29]<Immental1200> Has the server got the power to keep up with spikes?
[14:29]<@BC_Programming> what spikes?
[14:30]<Immental1200> Well, I'm assuming it's spiking when it 'can't keep up'
[14:30]<@BC_Programming> no that just happens when I join
[14:30]<Immental1200> Oh.
[14:30]<@BC_Programming> the server practically dies and everything times out
[14:30]<@BC_Programming> UNTIL I delete my player.dat file, then it works for a few hours and starts the do it again
[14:30]<Immental1200> Hm
[14:30]<Immental1200> Probably is the snapshot then
[14:30]<@BC_Programming> and sometimes I can fix it by deleting the UUIDLeast and UUIDMost values in my player.dat
[14:31]<@BC_Programming> well duh that much was pretty obvious
[14:31]<Immental1200> :P
[14:31]<@BC_Programming> It's probably because they rewrote the network code to use Netty
[14:31]<Immental1200> I've only seen 'can't keep up' on a join when the server is also at load
[14:31]<@BC_Programming> which is like "hmm, we have this working, so let's start over"
[14:31]<Immental1200> With Dinnerbone in command, what do you expect
[14:31]<@BC_Programming> even when it's working fine the log is filled with Netty errors
[14:37] * Kevin (Mibbit@mib-9A052F5B.dhcp.bycy.mi.charter.com) has joined #glitchpc
[14:57]<@BC_Programming> heh amateurs :P we are supposed to display the version and date of the program in the title bar
[14:57]<@BC_Programming> and everybody else seems to just hard-code the date and version right in as a string
[14:58]<@BC_Programming> whereas mine just retrieves its Assembly Version and Linker timestamp
[15:22]<@BC_Programming> oooh there is another snapshot it appears
[15:29] * Nat (nat@mib-D760DC52.west.biz.rr.com) Quit (Quit: zzzZZZzzzZZzzZZZzz)
[15:31]<@BC_Programming> oh wow well that fixes the network issue maybe
[15:31]<@BC_Programming> though they really screwed up like everything else
[15:31]<@BC_Programming> enchanted items don't show their durability bar
[15:31]<@BC_Programming> GUI's use white text for no reason

[15:34] * Nat (nat@mib-D760DC52.west.biz.rr.com) Quit (Client exited)
[15:36]<jamer> so i have access to a whole ibm blackrack and servers
[15:36]<+camerongray> Nice!
[15:36] * Nat (nat@mib-D760DC52.west.biz.rr.com) has joined #glitchpc
[15:37]<jamer> it has all the blades in it ... all 14
[15:37]<+camerongray> Sweet
[15:37]<jamer> :P
[15:37]<+camerongray> I'm trying to work out hosting for a web app a few of us are developing
[15:37]<+camerongray> Thinking AWS
[15:38]<+camerongray> I love working with my own hardware but for something like this AWS looks perfect as there are no hardware/maintainence costs and we can scale the number of servers up and down automatically
[15:39]<+camerongray> Come to think of this - This is the only startup type group that is using PHP :P
[15:39]<+camerongray> Everywhere is is "Oh, lets use this new thing that I read about"
[15:40]<+camerongray> We're like "PHP works"
[16:03]<Immental1200> New PHP is annoying
[16:03]<Immental1200> We installed a new webserver yesterday
[16:03]<Immental1200> It has the latest PHP on it
[16:03]<Immental1200> Put some sites on there and everything broke
[16:05]<Immental1200> Why u do dis cpanel
[16:05]<@BC_Programming> new PHP being which version
[16:13] * Nat (nat@mib-D760DC52.west.biz.rr.com) Quit (Quit: zzzZZZzzzZZzzZZZzz)
[16:14]<+camerongray> That sounds like a CPanel issue
[16:14]<+camerongray> Unless those sites are using stupidly old stuff and getting depricated warnings
[16:30]<Immental1200> They were Joomla 2.5
[16:30]<Immental1200> Said they didn't want to upgrade to 3.0 because stuff wasn't compatible
[16:31]<Immental1200> And they'd been told development was harder
[16:31]<Immental1200> 5.5
[16:31]<Immental1200> We were using 5.4 before
[16:32]<Immental1200> Really surprised me when we had tickets about issues
[16:37]<jamer> camerongray the funny thing is that we dont even know how to start the servers yet XD

[17:34]<@BC_Programming> It might but it would probably be overkill
[17:35]<squiggy> Then what else can I do
[17:35]<squiggy> The errors are getting old
[17:35]<@BC_Programming> reinstall the browsers
[17:36]<squiggy> Done that
[17:36]<@BC_Programming> That is completely uninstall them and then install them, rather than just run the installer again
[17:36]<squiggy> I have

[19:36] * bugweiser (Mibbit@14E7EE6E.DFC517BA.EE619E3D.IP) has joined #glitchpc
[19:36]<bugweiser> Hello
[19:36]<bugweiser> Does any1 know how to get a stale house smell out of a clean house without opening windows as fresh air is of no help?
[19:36]<bugweiser> I am having issue with a browser. Adobe errors in Opera and Shockwave Flash has crashed errors in Chrome. Would reformatting help or would I still have the issues?
[19:37]<+camerongray> Oh yeah, Having your 1 year 8 month TV decide to completely die on you when Sony only give a 1 year warranty!
[19:40]<+camerongray> GAH - almost got through the setup after the factory reset - Seemed to be going so well, then bang! It dies again
[19:43]<+camerongray> So bascically all I can do now is spend £££ on a new TV and get a few £ back by selling this one on eBay as faulty
[19:47]<jamer> Whata the issue on it
[19:49]<@BC_Programming> You aren't fooling anybody db.
[19:50]<@BC_Programming> hmm actually nevermind, though I find it odd somebody who was just here as squiggy and got pretty much the only answer that is reasonably would come back under a nick that has been here previously
[19:52]<@BC_Programming> in other news my Mum has apparently emptied my bank account... trust is a weakness indeed
[19:53]<@BC_Programming> well empty as in taking more than I said
[20:00]<+camerongray> Wow
[20:00]<@BC_Programming> Guess I'll be grabbing the amount to give myself from now on
[20:01]<@BC_Programming> Also who the hell takes 10 hours to go to the store
[20:02]<+camerongray> Just don't let them access your account
[20:02]<+camerongray> Even my parents don't have access to mine
[20:02]<@BC_Programming> they don't have access
[20:02]<@BC_Programming> I gave them my card
[20:03]<+camerongray> Ahh, take it back :P
[20:03]<@BC_Programming> When I say "gave" I mean let her borrow this morning
[20:03]<@BC_Programming> and I can't take it back because she hasn't come back yet
[20:03]<@BC_Programming> and I'm PISSED OFF because that was like 10 hours ago
[20:03]<@BC_Programming> and I want pizza :/
[20:04]<+camerongray> Ahh
[20:04]<@BC_Programming> I love how because now I'm working I'm supposed to give her pretty much all my money
[20:04]<@BC_Programming> if she wants money maybe she should get a job too
[20:06]<+camerongray> Yeah, that's not on
[20:07]<+camerongray> I mean, if my parents needed money I'd help them (although they have substatially more than me) but it wouldn't be a regular thing
[20:07]<@BC_Programming> that's the irony being that I'm making more than both of them put together
[20:07]<@BC_Programming> ever have in their life in fact
[20:07]<+camerongray> Yeah :P
[20:08]<@BC_Programming> It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't use my money to buy stuff like cigarettes and beer. Those aren't necessities. Don't buy them. Also I don't like being a party even indirectly to them smoking
[20:09]<@BC_Programming> I might just go over their head and start paying the landlord myself teehee
[20:09]<+camerongray> Yay - TV seems to be working again
[20:09]<+camerongray> lol yeah
[20:09]<+camerongray> It's like when you see people begging and smoking
[20:09]<+camerongray> Or on smartphones...
[20:09]<@BC_Programming> or from the side of their Ferrari
[20:09]<@BC_Programming> ok maybe not that
[20:09]<+camerongray> lol
[20:10]<+camerongray> I saw one today on a smartphone
[20:10]<+camerongray> Well, looked like one
[20:10]<@BC_Programming> imagine his calendar
[20:10]<+camerongray> hehe
[20:10]<@BC_Programming> "beggin'"
[20:10]<+camerongray> No idea how I fixed this TV
[20:10]<@BC_Programming> "panhandlin"
[20:10]<@BC_Programming> Busking is OK though since they are actually doing something other than playing Mr or Mrs.entitled
[20:11]<+camerongray> All I seemed to do was get angry, unplug the antenna, HDMI and Ethernet cables, turn it on, notice it didn't cut off, plug all the cables back in, and turn it on again
[20:11]<+camerongray> Yeah!
[20:12]<+camerongray> Yay to the fact the TV works, but now I don't trust it :P
[20:12]<+camerongray> haha
[20:12]<+camerongray> Like, things don't start flashing error codes that indicate a failed BGA chip then start working again
[20:13]<+camerongray> Hmm, I hope the act of me moving it to disconnect the cables didn't just move something inside
[20:14]<+camerongray> Didn't stop :D
[20:15]<+camerongray> Well, I didn't hit it much when I remembered the hard drive in the HTPC bolted to the TV
[20:15]<@BC_Programming> http://imgur.com/uCoVmgL
[20:15]<+camerongray> hehe
